I really appreciate when you can take one part of your life and apply it to another to create positive momentum. Fitness and Business are those parallels to me. Of course, family is woven into everything, so putting it all together takes extreme focus - for me anyway.

A quick story...my favorite boxing trainer at Title Boxing in Cool Springs, Justin Johnson, always brings us together at the end of every class and says "Great work today Title, now go out there at get after your day like you got after that bag!"
This is a little thing that goes a long way. It's perfect perspective for bringing the fitness and business mindset together. And of course the family dynamic. Let me explain.
These aren't just words. Well, they don't have to be.
Case in point, during my final round of boxing today (Round 8), I was feeling tired and ready to head out and start my day. My brain was thinking more about breakfast than it was about finishing strong.
Then, Round 8 turned into three segments of "freestyling" on the bag. This basically means that the trainer wants you to hit it as hard and as fast as humanly possible for 30-45 seconds. A pretty solid workout that takes some focus.
As Justin prepared us for the first of three freestyles, I thought about the fact that recently I had randomly had some fears creeping into my brain about some of my closest loved ones. Completely unwarranted fears, the kind that you just kind of say (this person is so perfect that I hope nothing bad ever happens to them, then your mind wanders).
So I decided in the first freestyle to make pretend that the heavybag was MY FEAR.
It worked. I beat the shit out of my fear.
Then, preparing for the second freestyle, I thought about something else that I'd like to beat out of my brain consistently - my insecurities. BOOM.
Third freestyle, my complaints.
I have no reason not to be so grateful for everything in my life. BOOM. Beat down those complaints.
Whatever is going on in your life, and whether or not any of this resonates with you, I felt like it was a positive thing to share. Finding where multiple areas of your life can intersect and result in a positive outlook and productivity, is worth sharing.
🙂
