Many business owners and marketers don't really understand how powerful of a tool Google Analytics is, nor how easy it is to actually use. One interesting report is the Real Time Report. It shows you how many website users your website has at any given time of day or night.

It also shows you exactly where in the world they're located, and how they found your site.

This can be especially useful for making real-time marketing decisions or scalability decisions related to your technology stack and / or marketing efforts.

One example is live events. You may be hosting an in-person or virtual live event, or mix of both, and need to know how many visitors your website has at any given time, live, to make decisions on anything from scaling hosting to pushing out marketing messaging.

Another example is website functionality. You may want to know, as I allude to in this video, if a "live chat" function on your website is necessary or would be beneficial to your audience.

Viewing real time data can tell you when to have your live chat staffed, and when you can get away with leaving it on autopilot.
