I've been updating content on WordPress sites since 2008. Without question, it's a platform that has helped me build my business value over the years, whether it be building out my first WordPress website with killer fantasy football content - NoOffseason.com - from 2008-2011, or building website after website for clients in and agency setting, to now doing the same at Data Driven Design and also posting and managing content, conducting continuous WordPress tutorials with clients and empowering them to be self-sufficient at managing their own content so they don't have to pay an agency for outside help.

In fact, this last point is one that I've become more and more passionate about over the years.

If I taught myself how to update WordPress content, gained confidence, then actually became a developer, why can't anyone else with zero technical knowledge that needs to all of the sudden be a webmaster for their company in addition to their current marketing, PR or IT role, get a WordPress site that is easy for them to update.

And web developers out there, I mean update ALL OF THE CONTENT, including Theme Options, Footer, Main Nav, EVERYTHING.

If you work at a small business, midsize company, emerging brand or run a 1 to 5 person show of any kind, chances are you've probably had some fear put into you by someone else out there that you could "mess up your website."

While it's true to some extent, what you need to know is that even if you do mess it up, there's a feature called "Revisions" on each page or post, that should make you fearless when it comes to updating content. It's so simple that this video explains it in less than two minutes.

Don't listen to those who are trying to instill fear in you. They're wanting to make more money off of you.

Work with those who will empower you to do more yourself. They want you to succeed and know that if they help you, the relationship will always be mutually beneficial.

Thanks for reading /watching and have a great day!
