You'll start reading more and more headlines about Voice-Enabled Smart-Speakers, and you may even have one of them in your home. If you do, chances are, you're likely using it for streaming music, and that's probably it.

But over the next 24-36 months, you'll start using it for much, much more, and may even start using it for business related functions at your office.

The device you'll use will be one that has Amazon's Alexa enabled. Alexa will win over Google Home and Apple HomePod for many reasons, but perhaps the most crucial being the developer community that Amazon is fostering to build Alexa Skills (Alexa's version of "apps") that will grow the possibilities as to what the Voice-based user experience can feel like.

So from a business standpoint, you'll see things like What Amazon Is Doing To Keep Alexa In The Lead, but from a User Experience standpoint, it will be the fact that Amazon is incentivizing developers to publish unique and creative Alexa Skills that will end up being the true reason Alexa will win.

There's also monetization programs for Alexa Developers to make money by adding in-skill purchasing of both virtual and physical products.

With Alexa Developer Rewards, you can also make money for eligible skills that drive some of the highest customer engagement. Skills in eligible categories are automatically considered for the program each month.

In addition to the Alexa Developer Platform being very welcome and user friendly to publish skills, platforms like Storyline make it super easy to publish Alexa Skills without coding knowledge.

While it may seem far-fetched currently to see the Echo taking over the iPhone as the most used device in our lives, we're not far off. The frictionless, AI-based Voice Platform will only get better and allow us to become more efficient and effective as consumers and eventually as business people.

The developer community will flock to this technology due to Amazon's incentives, skills kit updates and ease of use, and as the world's smartest developers see the whitespace to monetize and open-ended-ness of creativity that the voice-space allows, the experience will be undeniable to the consumer.

I'll see you in the next couple of years speaking to Alexa at your desk.
