How To Tell If People Are Watching Your Videos – Website Analytics Tips

I've had a lot of inquiries about how to host videos on websites, and while YouTube is a great platform, the one I'm the most bullish on is called Wistia.
In this video, you can see a case study of exactly how we use Wistia to host videos on our clients websites, then actually measure the results, and use the data to dictate the next action steps.
Here, we take a look at how you can not only tell how many plays your videos get, but you can drill down on who is watching each one, and for how long they're watching them for.
We look at individual heatmaps as well as an overview to tell us where the action on the video is plateauing or falling off.
In this example, we see that on a 1:07 video, the biggest drop-off point is at the 32-34 second mark. The data driven action item here is to add a turnstyle email opt-in - a phenomenal option in the Wistia platform that can integrate with Mailchimp and most other email marketing platforms to generate leads via video views.
Not only is Wistia an amazing tool for video analytics and lead generation, but now that you know how to use data to drive action, you should be able to take your business in the right direction.
Thanks for reading / watching and have a great day!
