SEO Tip: Rich Snippets Are Longer – Does Your SEO Company Know What To Do?

By: Paul Hickey, Founder and Lead Strategist

Rich Snippets are the lines of copy that show on Google Search Results pages after you make a search. Google is now showing 300-350 characters (basically 4-5 lines of copy) instead of 150 characters (1-2 lines of copy). Does your SEO Company Know What To Do About This?

Don’t fret, it’s actually pretty simple. Go in and change your Meta Description on every page to be 300-350 characters long. This gives you more opportunity to get your brand’s message across to the user and show your value prop.

Google’s algorithm will take notice and appreciate your efforts. It will slightly increase your website’s chances of being show higher for relevant keywords, and it will greatly increase your changes of gaining a better click through rate, since more relevant information to the page the user may be clicking through to will be shown on the search engine results page (what you see on Google).
