Have you launched a website recently only to realize weeks later that it's not showing up on Google at all when you Google Your Company's Name or anything related to it?

Frustrating as hell, right? Well, of course! There's always a real reason why this is happening, so don't let your web development company tell you "well, that's just Google being Google."

Not true. It's likely that either something is off within Google Webmaster Tools / Search Console set-up, OR it could be something as stupid-simple as the good ole' "Discourage Search Engines from Indexing this Site" box hasn't been unchecked.

That's right folks, under Settings - Reading in WPEngine, this box is not automatically unchecked upon launching to production. In GoDaddy Managed WordPress Hosting, it is, but not in WPEngine.

Don't forget this important step for good SEO on your new WordPress website.

Thanks for reading, and have a great day!
