Paul has created and grown businesses via digital strategy and internet marketing for more than 10 years. His sweet spot is using analytics to design and build websites and grow the audience and revenue of businesses via SEO/Blogging, Google Adwords, Bing Ads, Facebook and Instagram Ads, Social Media Content Marketing and Email Marketing. The part that he’s most passionate about is quantifying next marketing actions based on real data.
His background includes more than 15 years of work in Public Relations, Community Relations/Event Management/Fundraising and as a nationally published writer for publications such as USA Today, Sports Illustrated, NBC/Rotoworld and several other print and Athlon Sports.
He worked for the Detroit Pistons and the NBA for 6 years, inspiring him to create his own niche fantasy football web-based company in 2006, a content-based premium subscription membership product which jumpstarted his love for entrepreneurship and gaining visibility for websites.
Wanting to move to Nashville, Hickey became the Director of Marketing at Columbia State Community College and helped grow the school’s brand awareness and digital footprint for 4 years.
Truly missing the tech world and being an entrepreneur, he created a partnership with an international entertainment company in 2010, conceiving and building a Fantasy Wrestling game that was promoted on national television, national satellite radio and social media, and garnering an active daily user base of more than 30,000 people.
He has since leveraged his own experience building digital businesses into serving clients in the following industries for the last 9 years – small and mid-size service-based companies, direct-to-consumer retail and eCommerce-based businesses, start-ups, established mid-size firms, food and drink franchises, convenience store franchises, Fortune 500 brick and mortar and retail businesses, personal brands and of course just solid self-employed folks looking to grow their client base.
Hickey started Data Driven Design, LLC in 2016 with the sole intent to bring his customers results driven by data and not theories or just opinions. He works to ensure that every customer gets their business and marketing goals met or exceeded by using the most effective marketing tools. He spends his spare time studying technology and consumer behavior trends and is a master at delivering customer service and results.
